The Western North Carolina School of Massage works in partnership with the Mind-Body Connection, an NCBTMB Approved Provider of Massage Therapy Continuing Education ID#451758-11.  Together, we are offering several online (home study) courses for your learning convenience. With home study courses, the convenience and ability to review the material can increase your overall retention. 

Directions: To register for any of our online continuing education courses click on  the "REGISTER NOW" button below any of the course titles.  There you will be directed to the payment portal. Once you have completed the payment process you will be redirected to the course website. Ethics; Mindfulness & Loving Kindness - 6 Continuing Education Hours  $69

In this course, we examine a Buddhist approach to Ethics. We learn how to pay attention, remain focused, and increase our awareness of ourselves and our clients through the practice of mindfulness. We use the practice of loving kindness to help us treat clients with respect, empathy, and care. 

Understanding your Client's Personality - 6 Continuing Education Hours  $69

Your role as a therapist is to both attract the best clients and also to provide healing for those who are very different from you. In this fun and interactive course, you will receive a personality inventory that provides an in-depth assessment of your own preferences, and you will learn different “types” and styles of others you encounter every day.  

Aromatherapy 101 - 6 Continuing Education Hours  $69

Herbal Oils

In this class, participants will become familiar with 8 essential oils that should be in any massage therapist's toolbox. Participants will be able to add these oils to massage sessions to enhance clients’ experience and results.  This course also explores indications, contraindications, the chemistry of the oils, dilution ratios, and safety precautions.  

Common Medications and Massage - 4 Continuing Education Hours  $49

“Please list your medications.” We see this question on every intake form, and as massage therapists, we
ask our clients about their medications, but do we know how to use that information? The use of certain drugs may require adaptation to pressure, techniques, positioning, and protocol. To ensure client safety, this course offers information and resources to help you make informed decisions. 


Introduction to Oncology Massage - 4 Continuing Education Hours  $49

In this course, participants will discuss ethical considerations of working with cancer patients, dispel the myths of massage and cancer, discuss methods of cancer treatment, explain the side effects of each treatment, and Identify when and which type of massage is indicated for the effects of cancer treatment 

Foundation of Ethics - 3 Continuing Education Hours  $39

Adhering to professional ethical behavior is essential to being a successful massage practitioner. In this 3-hour course, you will learn the foundation of ethics, professionalism, boundaries, the mind-body connection, the therapeutic processes, and sexual issues in the treatment room.  

Introduction to Neuromuscular Therapy; Anatomy & Theory - 6 Continuing Education Hours  $69
