Reiki I

10 hours

The WNCSOM supports the “wholistic” view of healthcare; mind, body, and spirit. Reiki (pronounced ray-key) means “universal life energy” in Japanese and is a form of therapy that uses simple hands-on, no-touch, and visualization techniques, with the goal of improving the flow of a person’s electromagnetic fields to relieve stress and pain, and to improve the symptoms of various health conditions.

In this course component, we also explore various energetic concepts from eastern traditions including traditional Chinese medicine concepts of Yin and Yang, Meridian (energy channels), and Elemental influences.  We also explore  Indian energetic healing traditions from Ayurveda, including the Chakras, Doshas, and Nadis.
